CC4T is an afterschool club for children and their families that attend schools local to Christ Church. The group is for primary school aged children with their parents and carers. Younger and older siblings are also welcome.
There are crafts and activities for the children as they arrive, parents and carers are able to relax and enjoy a coffee or tea and chat whilst the children get busy with the craft activity of the day. We get up to all sorts at CC4T; we have made badges and had fun with sand art. We even made banners for church and Stamford Festival float. We have decorated picture frames to take home and much more. These are just a few of the creative ways the children can engage.
At about 4pm to bring a change of focus we have an action song that is lots of fun, and a prayer with a big Aaaaaamen!
We then sit down to enjoy a delicious hot meal where we encourage families to sit and eat together and to make new friends over the meal. This always ends with a lovely scrummy pudding or cake and if you enjoyed the meal and want to have it again, recipe cards are available for you to take home.
After the meal we encourage everyone to help with the clearing away together.
Our aim is to help families to find a window of time in the week to be together without the stress of another meal to cook. We hope that in the future there will be an opportunity to help families with things like cooking on a budget.
Why not come along and give CC4T a try? We run every Tuesday during term time straight from school until 5pm, it is a great place to belong and we hope you can join us.
