Here at Christ Church we welcome enquiries from parents who feel that we are a place to belong, or they would like our church to be a place their child belongs, for baptisms. Our baptisms normally take place on the fourth Sunday of the month during our Sunday morning service.

Whenever it happens, a baby, child or adult; but being baptised at Christ Church is at the heart of an amazing journey of faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. We feel you are never too old to take this step, and therefore we welcome adults and children of all ages to be baptised at Christ Church. Being baptised as an adult is just as wonderful of an experience as it is as a child.

A baptism is the beginning of an exciting journey of faith. When a parent chooses to have their child baptised they are telling everyone they love that their child is precious to them and precious to God.

At a baptism the parents and godparents of the child will make promises to support the child, talk to them about the big questions they face in their lives, pray for them and show them how to make good choices in their lives. The parents and godparents will also promise to help the child learn about the Christian faith.

During the baptism service at Christ Church everyone at the service, including members of the congregation, your friends and family, will be invited to promise to continue supporting the child during their journey of faith.

This is a very special day for families; it is a celebration of a child’s birth but also the joining of friends and family who come together to celebrate with you, to shower your child with love and to enjoy a very memorable day with you.

Please contact the church office to find out more about baptisms at Christ Church, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
