Guiding has been associated with Christ Church since the early 1970s, with groups meeting at the hall in Willoughby Road before moving to the Church in Green Lane in the late 1990s. Our Guide Unit was the first to be opened in 1970, followed by 4th Stamford Brownies becoming 4th Stamford (Christ Church) Brownies in 1975.
The units currently meeting weekly at the church during term time; Brownies seven to ten and Guides ten to fourteen.
Guiding is the largest female-only organisation in the world and aims to enable members to work together on a balanced and varied programme of activities while sharing a commitment to the Guiding promise.
Popular activities across the three groups include crafts, cooking, fundraising, community projects, games, singing and taking part in residential events. We also like to join with other members of the Guiding family on a regular basis, both locally and county wide.
Details of how to become involved in Girlguiding as a leader or young member can be found by visiting the “Get involved” section of the Girlguiding UK website at www.girlguiding.org.uk
