Where to Find Us

Christ Church and its Access & Learning Centre is located in the northern part of the town. It is in the centre of its own parish of approx. 3500 people but also serves the wider community across Stamford which has a total population of approx. 17000.

This part of the town has largely grown up since the end of the Second World War, the bulk of the development taking place in the 50's; 60's; and 70's.

The location in Green Lane approximately one mile north of the town centre is a natural focal point or 'local centre' for the community in this area. There are three shops opposite including a general store / mini mart and food takeaway. The Bluecoat County Primary School is also directly opposite the church centre providing wrap around care for 0-4 year pre school children. From September 2004 The Bluecoat School is the site of a Children's Centre.

Further north, two hundred metres along Green Lane is the Queen Eleanor Community Secondary School.

Both the Bluecoat and Queen Eleanor schools provide facilities for adult education.

The YMCA also runs a successful evening youth club and an 'After School Club'.
